Our Nature

I’m feeling a bit burdened tonight. I woke up this morning and felt enlightened by a devotional I read and then continued that reading into Psalms.  I had this incredible nagging feeling to stop what I was doing and post this pic up with what I had read.

Of course my busy body human nature got the best of me and I kept putting it off all day. I completely believe this contributed to a rough day.  When we are called by the Spirit to do something then I think not doing it opens our world up for potential collisions.  Today was one of those days.

Friends, we are living in an era with amazing technology that gives so many a voice that would normally not be heard.  With that amazing fact comes a whole lot of drowning noise.  With the tragedy in Nevada that affected so many people the noise volume seems to have been increased the past few days.

In reality our society is full of this distracting noise.  Noise that causes fears and anxiety.  If left unmitigated it causes mass panic.  I’m not going to get political here but when pushed hard by a thirsty news anchor trying to cause some drama, the former head of DHS (forgive me for forgetting his name) replied very simply to a double edged question from the anchor, “Would you tell your family to avoid concerts and public venues”.  The man replied, “Absolutely not.  We can not live in fear.  Random acts of evil have always occurred…”  He went on to cite the 1967 Bell Tower massacre in Texas and a few other grave examples of random evil.

He is 100% right.  So my friends SHUT CNN, FOX, ABC, MSNBC, or any other news network OFF!  Live your life, do your due diligence to protect your family and friends but realize that evil courses through all of our veins.  How may people have seen an evil rock or any evil inanimate object?  That’s right my friends.  Evil is inherent in the sin nature of man.  You will drive yourself crazy watching all the back and forth on social media and conspiracy theories.  Let the investigators do their jobs and worry about what God has put forth before you!

I leave you with this:

Psalms 23 verse three and four:

-He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness; For His name sake.

-Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I FEAR NO EVIL, for YOU are with me…

Finally part of verse five:

-You prepare a table before me in the PRESENCE OF MY ENEMIES…

There is just too much to worry about in this cruel, sin laden world.  The pressures are great and as strong as you are physically you are truly weak and helpless.  So much like the picture I set as my feature image.  I look to the sky, I see the mountain, and feel the calm waters…

Be safe.
